- Citylearning is a founder member of the Learning Communities Network.
- Citylearning promotes the development of inclusive learning opportunities for all. The partnership has a commitment to support lifelong learning which is relevant, enjoyable and which pays.
Core Principles
As the government endorsed Lifelong Learning Partnership for Hull and the Learning Sub Board of Hull's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), Citylearning has a number of core principles. These are to:
- Agree and promote an entitlement to learning.
- Ensure quality of access to learning support, learning advice and guidance.
- Identify gaps and work together to address them.
- Focus on joint training and shared expertise to build quality.
- Co-ordinate research as responsive ongoing dialogue with learners and potential learners.
- Plan learning to promote community and economic development.
- Link policy developments to add value and avoid duplication.
Strategic Priorities
The Citylearning Partnership has four agreed strategic priorities for the city. These are:
- The promotion of literacy and numeracy.
- The promotion of independent learning.
- The provision of a variety of quality learning experiences to include and engage all learners.
- The identification and sharing of good practice to support and develop learning and attainment and raise expectations and aspirations.
